Fiqh covers worship, transactions, family law and social conduct. It is distinguished from ʿaqīda (creed) and from uṣūl al-fiqh, the theory of how rulings are derived. Because fiqh applies principles to circumstances, qualified scholars can reach different valid conclusions.
