Remembrance

أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

English

The best remembrance is 'there is no god but Allah', and the best supplication is 'all praise is due to Allah'.

Scholarly note

Read together with the chapters on adhkar in Al-Adhkar of al-Nawawi, which the Shafi'i school treats as authoritative.
