Said after Fajr until sunrise.
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ
Asbahnā wa asbaha-l-mulku lillāh, wal-hamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illa-llāhu wahdahu lā sharīka lah
We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah; praise is for Allah; there is no god but Allah alone, without partner.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ
Allāhumma anta rabbī lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa anā ʿabduk, wa anā ʿalā ʿahdika wa waʿdika mā-staṭaʿt
O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant; I keep Your covenant and promise as much as I can. (Sayyid al-Istighfār)
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Hasbiya-llāhu lā ilāha illā huwa, ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbu-l-ʿarshi-l-ʿaẓīm
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no god but He. In Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the mighty Throne.
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
Subhāna-llāhi wa bihamdih
Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him.
Said after Asr until nightfall.
أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
Amsaynā wa amsā-l-mulku lillāh, wal-hamdu lillāh
We have entered the evening and the dominion belongs to Allah; praise is for Allah.
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
Aʿūdhu bikalimāti-llāhi-t-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He created.
رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا
Raḍītu billāhi rabban, wa bil-islāmi dīnan, wa bi-Muhammadin ﷺ nabiyyan
I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as Prophet.
Recited after every obligatory prayer.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ
Astaghfiru-llāh
I seek forgiveness from Allah.
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ — الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ — اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ
Subhāna-llāh — al-hamdu lillāh — Allāhu akbar
Glory be to Allah — praise be to Allah — Allah is the greatest. (33 times each, completing the hundred with lā ilāha illa-llāh…)
آيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ
Āyat al-Kursī (Quran 2:255)
Whoever recites Āyat al-Kursī after every prayer, nothing prevents him from Paradise but death.
Said when setting out and while journeying.
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Subhāna-lladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn
Glory to Him who subjected this to us, for we could never have done it ourselves; and to our Lord we shall surely return.
آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
Āyibūna tā'ibūna ʿābidūna li-rabbinā hāmidūn
We return, repentant, worshipping and praising our Lord.
Said when lying down for the night.
بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
Bismika-llāhumma amūtu wa ahyā
In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.
الْإِخْلَاصُ وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَانِ
Al-Ikhlās, al-Falaq, an-Nās
Recite Sūrat al-Ikhlās, al-Falaq and an-Nās, blow into the palms and wipe over the body — three times.
